10 Boutique Properties in West Bengal for Your Next Staycation

Even if the old city of Kolkata and the state of West Bengal are mere ghosts of what they once were, they nonetheless demand considerable respect in art and culture. While the metropolis still has a lot of its colonial beauty, the state is beginning to show signs of gentrification following post-liberalization. 1. That penthouse property is luxe! I would love to stay there, but the prices are just too out of my reach. I also love Cedar Inn in Darjeeling. Feels very cozy. Great list of places to stay!

  2. What a great list of amazing hotels! Usually I tend to find cheap accomodation in order to spend more money on food and sightseeing. But I would be definitely tempted to splurge on one of these beauties. Staying in the Darjeeling mountains at the splendid Cedar Inn would be a dream for me.

  3. What a great list of luxurious hotels! I would love to be able to afford a night in one of these incredible places at some point, to treat myself with a bit of luxury. I like the classic feel of the Oberoi, it seems so grandiose. Also, the Vedic Village Spa Resort caught my eye with that incredible location, complemented by the wellness centre. That sounds like a proper relaxation break. I think the dream would be to stay at the Penthouse and swim in their infinity pool.

  4. I have really not been to eastern India much, so this list is actually giving me tips where all I can travel to. 🙂 Darjeeling and Kolkata top the list and that Penthouse can attract to anybody. Vedic Village Spa resort is something I would like to try too.

  5. Kolkata is on my list of dream cities to see. Despite several visits to India, I have not been there yet. That’s why I’d love to read your suggestions for places to stay while traveling in West Bengal because that state is on my wish list. The Glenburn Penthouse, with its colonial style, looks impressive. Also, Cedar Inn, with its Terrace Café, which provides a spectacular view of Kanchenjunga, is something that I could stay. However, the water reflections of Vedic Village Spa Resort are so amazing that I would love to stay there as well. The choice is quite difficult.

  6. Having a staycation with family or friends at one of these ten properties is unquestionably wonderful. They are all fabulous! Raajkutir’s style is quite elegant. The setting at Vedic Village Spa Resort appears to be extremely tranquil and soothing. The Glenburn Penthouse, which includes a rooftop infinity pool where guests can relax and take in the spectacular attractions, is my favorite choice here.

  7. These luxurious boutique properties in west Bengal are awesome with each one having a charm of its own. I have seen most of them from outside but never had an experience to stay there. Getting a view of the local landmarks from the Glenburn penthouse would be an extraordinary experience as much as soaking in the grandeur and traditional setting of the Rajkutir. And of course diving into the classic atmosphere of Oberoi Grand located in the heart of the city would be a pleasure. And the rustic beauty of Vedic village spa would be an amazing escapade from the hustle and bustle of the city. Also living the Allita hotel and Mayfair resorts located in the laps of the Himalayas and will give an opportunity to explore the quaint monasteries and lush forests in the foothills.

  8. I’ll first start with how much I miss Kolkata and enjoyed reading this post. ITC in this list is my favorite because this is where I met SRK twice 😂😂😂.
Oberoi has Amazing facilities and staff. Glenburn has great amenities and Rajkutir is good to stay and the food is too good.

Remaining I have no idea. But you choices are really good.

  9. Among all the properties you mentioned, I think I like The Glenburn Penthouse best. It’s so charming and homey. I would prefer to stay here than at the hotel. Though I find the price a bit steep, I guess the experience is worth it. I would love to see their menu.

  10. These are all some really beautiful boutique properties. What I like is that each one seems to have its own unique character and charm that is so endearing. We now know where to stay when we are in Kolkata next. Sandy N Vyjay

  11. Wow these properties look so dreamy and beautiful. Lovely list Pamela. Will try to stay at them the next time I am in West Bengal.

  12. Pamela your post comes at such a good time. I am in Kolkata this month. I always wanted to go to Vedic village.. reading your post I would probably do that over next weekend.

  13. I would like to go all these places. But Cedar Inn will be among the must visit ones. I have heard all positive reviews about the Mayfair resorts also. It would be surely a beautiful visit to the eastern parts.
