Top post on IndiBlogger, the biggest community of Indian Bloggers

If you are a travel freak exactly like me, then I am sure you have been to the place called Venice of India or the Lake city of India. Yes, You are right I am talking about Udaipur, the fairy city in Rajasthan. This post as I am writing is a much-awaited post, but as it says those memories from a great trip last for a lifetime. I can still mesmerize the walk beside Fateh Sagar Lake, the boat ride at Lake Pichola, and the chasing sunset from City Palace. The smell of Rajasthani food, the shopping spree at Hathipole Market and our never-ending hunt for good food or alcohol. So here is my personal recommendation of the best places to visit in Udaipur or some most instagrammable places to visit in Udaipur.

Best Places to Visit in Udaipur

Udaipur is one of the favourite destinations for theme marriage. Most the couple in their life span at least visit once the place because of its romantic charm. The changing colour of the sky and water from pastel blue to Fuschia pink, the barren roads, the frequent chilly breeze from the lakes with the jaw-dropping backdrop of an azure blue sky, Udaipur has glorious beauty with the warm hospitality which can’t be ignored.

City Palace – Chase the Sunset

Built on the bank of Lake Pichola by Rana Udai Singh, The City Palace is the perfect reflection of Royal Rajasthan and one of the most remarkable places to visit. Known for the birthplace of great warrior Maharana Pratap, City Palace has its own glory to be maintained by different rulers at different times. There are altogether eleven palaces inside ( not all are accessible by the public ) with The crystal gallery, the vintage car museum, Daawat-e-Aam, Daawat – e – khash. The major attraction is to gaze at the sunset and at the same time witness the changing colors of the sky and the water.

Lake Pichola – Go for a Boat Ride

Udaipur

A visit is not a complete visit without a boat ride at Lake Pichola to the splendid Jag Mandir Palace. This instagrammable picturesque journey gives the resplendent views of City Palace, Sajjangarh and Bagore ki Haveli. How to miss the sunset pictures and the dreamy Ghats picture?

Jagmandir – Fulfil your desire to have a great meal with a stunning view

A beautiful Palace situated in the middle of the Lake Pichola can give you goosebumps by its architecture and a lunch or dinner is the option to make a lifetime memory.

Saheliyon Ki Bari – A Walk to Remember

Udaipur

Saheliyon Ki Bari was designed by King Sangram Singh for his Queen’s 48 maids. The garden is famous for lush green meadows, marbles, and fountains. The garden has four pools ornate with carefully etched booths, elephants in marble (every elephant moulded out of a solitary bit of stone) and lions cut out of marble filling the need of the wellspring which makes the regal image of the bygone era. Take a stroll and find a soothing view with the chirping of birds, life is green here.

Monsoon Palace – A complete view of Aravalli

Monsoon Palace or Sajjangarh Palace is named because it was built to watch monsoon clouds and also get a panoramic view of the city side.

The complete Aravalli range is visible from here which gives an absolutely breathtaking view.

Fateh Sagar Lake – Enjoy the sunrise here

When at Udaipur, the city of lakes then explores most of the lakes as each lake has some speciality. Sunrise at this beautiful artificial lake called Fateh Sagar lake is incredible and picturesque.

Sajjangarh Wildlife Sanctuary – Lifetime experience to be filled

You guys know my love for wildlife and when I heard about this Sanctuary I gave it a try. It’s spread in a wide way and you can visit the sanctuary if you have a good 2 to 3 hours in hand.

Vintage Car Museum – Check your knowledge of vintage cars

Well, if you guys are really interested in the vintage collection then this place can fascinate you with some of the rarest collections of vintage cars. They have a nice restaurant also where you can find the most exotic flavoured Mutton Rogan josh (based on my personal experience).

Bagore ki Haveli – A must-visit Palace

Bhagore Ki Haveli or I can say Dolls Palace is one of the interesting and must-visit places in Udaipur. Situated at Gangori ghat of Lake Pichola is the ideal place to sit and enjoy the view of the lake. Apart from the collection of dolls, Bagore ki Haveli has in excess of hundred rooms and shows customary outfits, current workmanship, a gigantic gathering of Mewar artistic creations and glassworks. Don’t skip the folk dances and cultural performances (Dharohar) in the evening time.

Udaipur has n number of places to offer and I have mentioned only a few places here. There are not only places in the city but also a lot of remarkable places that are very nearby to Udaipur. So, if you have time visit Chittorgarh, Kumbhalgarh, Eklingji, Haldighati to name a few.

A shopper’s delight, a foodie’s home Udaipur is versatile with everything. There are different options to stay available according to your pocket. The Hathipole market or the lakeside food options are as tempting as the royal treatment of Amber restaurant or a stay in Taj Palace. So, pack your bag and be ready to tick the bucket list, Thank me later 🙂
