Staying at The Residency Towers in Rameswaram, Where Surprises Never Ends
If you’ve been following along on my social media, you’ll know that I recently travelled to Rameshwaram for the first time and stopped off in Rameshwaram for a couple of days. That was when I discovered The Residency Tower Hotel in Rameshwaram. It was an experience of multiple discoveries for me, the hotel is a part of the Residency Group of hotels, offering comfortable luxury and a rather slick, modern sensibility. Read: Extremely instagrammable. It was also the location that was to be a new one for me. I’ve never been to South India before so it was essentially going to feel like a new destination for me! Getting There At The Residency Tower
There are no airports in Rameshwaram. In fact, the nearest airport to the Rameshwaram temple is in Madurai, from where the town centre is almost 170 km away. So, when I arrived at the Madurai Airport from Delhi, I found a smiling face from the hotel waiting for me. On the way I first tasted the South special Dosa and filter coffee from a local cafe and reached my abode by noon.
The hotel’s location is nothing short of spectacular. You’ll find yourself immersed in tranquillity, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It’s the perfect escape for those seeking a break from everyday life.
The Accommodation
Ascending to my deluxe Pool View Room, I had no idea of the view that was waiting for me. Stepping into the wood and grey interiors, I immediately felt calm and cocooned. Walking up to the massive glass wall, I gasped as I looked at the glittery blue pool water and clean horizon of the sky. It was almost afternoon and I was tired and hungry. Quickly went down to the restaurant, had a propitious delicious meal, unpacked and changed, exploring the room very little. The hotel management provided an awesome welcome letter and some local snacks and dry fruits in some cute bamboo boxes, I enjoyed a piece of bite and then sank into the plush, enveloping bed and called it a night. That morning flight from Delhi had me knackered.
The property has 100 plus rooms which are divided into King Suite, Standard, Pool View and balcony view. My room was the standard king room with a pool view. It is equipped with amenities like a luxury Eurotop Mattress, an HDTV, a mini-fridge, individually controlled air-conditioning, bath amenities by Biotique, and an electric kettle for a comfortable stay. The attention to detail in the room’s design was truly impressive.
Dining Experience
The property boasts one perfect on-site restaurant and one bar, each offering a unique culinary and beverage experience. I indulged in a variety of local and international dishes during my stay, and every meal was a gastronomic delight. The south special Sadya at the restaurant was a particular highlight, with the perfect spread on the leaf of the day served to perfection.

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you’ll know what a spa addict I am! Here in South India, the place is famous for its variety of Ayurvedic Spa and after knowing that, I couldn’t wait to see what the Residency Tower, Rameshwaram had to offer. Stepping into the spa, I was welcomed with an amazing detox drink and a spa menu. I browsed the wide range of invigorating treatments and therapies, inspired by traditional Ayurvedic methods and using natural ingredients. After specifying the various pressure levels and focus areas with our therapists I took the Rasayana therapy which seemed to be the best one. I was led to a room with full of fragrance and proceeded to melt into a state of bliss as the experienced hands kneaded their way through the knots in my muscles. After the massage, I was wrapped with medicinal herbs which aimed at reversing ageing or protecting the body against it. It does this by building up the body’s ability to fight pathogens through the use of herbs containing antioxidants, which guard against the damage caused by free radicals. I emerged feeling refreshed and revitalized, and enjoyed hot green tea as we slowly came back to Earth before leaving the Spa’s world-class facilities!
Recreation and Relaxation
Whether you’re seeking adventure or relaxation, the Residency Tower, Rameshwaram has you covered. I spent my mornings lounging by the pool or roaming to the places nearby, sipping on exotic cocktails, and afternoons snorkelling in the crystal-clear waters or at the gym. The hotel also curates your trip to the places or arranges a darshan to the Ramnathswami Temple in case you are looking for it.
Service and Staff
The staff at The Residency Tower, Rameshwaram was attentive and accommodating, making sure every aspect of my stay was memorable. They were always ready to assist with a smile, and their local knowledge proved invaluable when exploring the area.
